2.º Encontro de Bombos da Freguesia de Penamacor

The town of Penamacor will host the 2nd Penamacor Parish Drumming Meeting on April 18, 2026, in a celebration marked by music, tradition, and conviviality. The event begins at 3:30 PM with walks starting from the former barracks, followed at 9:30 PM in Largo D. Bárbara Tavares da Silva, with presentations by the participating groups.

Participating in this edition are the Gaiteiros do Mondego (Coimbra), the Grupo de Bombos Águias da Lage (Vila Real), the Grupo de Bombos Toca a Bombar (Cantar-Galo), the TamVal (Valverde del Fresno), the Grupo de Bombos da Associação de Jovens do Ferro, and the host group, the Grupo de Bombos da Junta de Freguesia de Penamacor.

The main objective of this initiative is to bring the sound of the bombos, a typical instrument of the Iberian Peninsula, to the urban fabric of the village, whose particularities vary from region to region, promoting the encounter between different geographies through music.

The organization belongs to the local Parish Council, with the support of the Municipality.
