On 23 and 24 May, Proença-a-Velha will host the 20th Soup Festival and the 20th Gathering of Accordionists and Concertina Players The Soup Festival is a true showcase of traditional cuisine, featuring simple, authentic recipes steeped in history. Prepared with local, seasonal ingredients, the soups represent the best of rural cuisine, shaped by the wisdom of generations and the use of what the land provides. From heart-warming, hearty soups to lighter, aromatic options, each recipe tells a little of the region’s identity. It will be two days of festivities, music and authentic flavours, celebrating the best the region has to offer.
